Darren Bent has been a great player for Charlton, contributing well in front of goal with many goals, he is also a good team player which is highlighted in his captaincy of the team. He was a great buy from Ipswich a couple of seasons a go for 3 million. I doubt he will be a regular for England in years to come, I just don't think he is on that "level." I am sure though he could play in European competition and be amongst the top goal scorers in the EPL. He could nicely warm up the bench for England and would be a good sub to bring on. Can't see him playing in the championship for Charlton next season.
Initially breaking into the Ipswich side as a fresh faced teenager, Darren Bent struck the headlines early on in his career. After scoring freely in successive seasons at Ipswich, Darren Bent earnt his move to the premiership with Charlton Athletic and quickly he transferred his form from the champhionship to the premiership. Regular goals saw him challenge for the Premiership golden boot in 2006 and also earned him international recognition. In 2007 Charlton struggled, but Bent continued to perform. Their relegation will surely alert several premiership sides, as Darren Bent is a proven goal scorer.
Relegated from the Premiership in the 2005-06 season. West Brom were favorites to regain promotion back into the Premiership this season. They made many excellent performances winning many matches. Were pipped to automatic promotion places by Sunderland and Birmingham city.
They played against Derby in the playoffs recently 21st may and were narrowly defeated 1-0 by Derby. Tony Mowbray took over as the manager from Bryan Robson who kept WBA in the Premiership. They will have a harder task next season as the Championship is a very tough place to get promoted. The benefit WBA have is that they can build or must build upon this seasons narrow promotion failure and will know a similar campaign should be good enough to see them at the top flight.
