Everything about this film was set up for an excellent sci-fi/adventure. The graphics were amazing, the actors wonderful, the plot even though predictable was still a good one--nothing was left out, or was it? Well, yes, one thing was left out. I'm not entirely sure what that one thing was, but when the movie was finished I felt completely let down! Cohesion is the only thing I can think that was missing. I remember thinking during the film "this is boring", but that was sporadic. So I suppose that the "one thing missing" was nothing to carry your attention through the entire film! The action would start and suddenly stop, this carried through the entire film until at last the film itself ended!!
This film was boring, confusing and overall just a massive let-down. It started off okay, saying that they needed to explode something because the sun was dying and then as the film went on and I just gave up. For a start, all of the crew were dying and they needed to commit suicide in order to make this big explosion anyway...and then a man comes out from nowhere and starts acting like a complete maniac and he starts killing everybody aswell. Basically this is just a film full of people who die, a film which which makes no sense at all, and one which bores from the middle onwards.
Ever since seeing 28 Days Later, which is one of my all time favourite movies, I have really liked Cillian Murphy. He was good in that movie and he is also very good in the new movie Sunshine that is out in cinemas now. He has the most amazing blue eyes ever. He is an up and coming actor and to me, he is one of the actors that helped with British horror movies getting so much better, as I think there have been some really good British horror movies that have come out over the last few years. A great revival for the genre and a great up and coming British actor.
