I think people need to stop laying the responsibility of child - I think people need to stop laying the responsibility of child safety on Social Networking sites and internet services and remember that it's up to you to supervise your child, not the internet. The systems currently in place do do a pretty good job of preventing abuse. I use MSN and stuff like that, and I'd hate to have that right taken away from me (at any stage in my life, as I did use it when I was younger). It's your responsibility to monitor your children and make sure they are safe.

the only reason social networking sites such as msn are so popular - the only reason social networking sites such as msn are so popular is that its free. thats the novelty. its safer than online chatrooms, because you can CONTROL over who you let add you or hwho you add. parents concerned over their childrens use of sites like msn should download msn live messenger, as that offers certain facilities that stop your child using smn freely, also you put passwords up on your pc. i really do not think it is a problem.
