I think it very much depends on the nature of the job in hand - I think it very much depends on the nature of the job in hand. Experience really should give you the upper hand. I think that there are those who just about scrape past getting their qualifications, and as a result will not have the intelligence or skill to tackle certain roles within the work place. Some might not perform well academically, but have the common sense and the drive to do amazingly well when in the actual work place. I have worked with people who have been to University and yet they have been totally useless when it comes to the practical.

From 1st October there will be slight increases to the Minimum wage, but the three-tier system will remain. Rates as follows: adults (people aged 22 and over), £5.73 an hour workers aged 18-21, £4.77 an hour young people (those older than school leaving age and younger than 18) £3.53 an hour Is this a fair system and does it provide sufficient incentive to the youngest members of our workforce?

I really think that everyone should get paid the same amount - I really think that everyone should get paid the same amount personally. I think that the original idea was to give an incentive to companies to employ young people. However, nowadays, some youngsters prefer to sign on than to go out to work for £3.53 an hour! That is outrageous! As long as they are working, pay them what they should get paid. This is called age discrimination in other countries.

Employers look for a mixture of both - Employers look for a mixture of both. Some employers will mark down a candidate with no experience – voluntary experience does count, purely based on the level of training they will need does not match the resources of the company. Also it is different learning theory and putting that into practise, the transition period can vary greatly and it is more favourable to have some experience behind you. I suggest taking up voluntary work in your field, employers tend to look on this very favourably. There are many organisations that would benefit you and equally you could benefit.

Otra posibilidad es jugar a la lotería, la primitiva, el cupón de la ONCE o la quiniela. Nunca se sabe...

Yo creo que la culpa de que actualmente no nos podamos comprar casas es de los bancos, porque antes daban prestámos a diestro y siniestro sin saber si iban a poder pagar o no los prestamos pero que pasa ahora que han visto que en EE UU esta todo mal y que muchos bancos han tenido que quedarse con las casas , las cuales luego no tienen comprador que ahora resulta que no te lo conceden aunque seas solvente. Otro problema que hay para que no compremos es el IBEX que esta por las nubes y venga subirlo. AL final como la mayoría de las personas trabajamos en la construccion pues todos al paro y que trabajo vamos a buscar pues ninguno porque nadie tiene dinero para gastar.... Hay gente que esta esperando a que bajen los precios los pisos pero yo creo que más no se van a bajar porque los empresarios antes de construir ya los pones bajos para que los compremos porque no quieren quedarse con ellos, quieren sacar dinero, ¿vosotros no comprais pisos porque?

Websites are now popping up where people can display the wages they earn, and even compare with some of their colleagues. Working in a public sector job, I know roughly how much my colleagues and bosses earn within a few thousand pounds. Would you want wage transparency at your workplace, so you can see what everyone else earns, but where everyone can see what you earn?

I must admit that previously having worked only in large - I must admit that previously having worked only in large corporations I had always had wage transparency and known the band for each job and therefore had a good idea of what everyone was paid. I then moved to a small company and have no idea what anyone gets paid but know that one of my colleagues who does the least amount of work but has been here the longest gets substantially more simply for length of service. I would like to have more wage transparency so that there can be more open discussions around end of year as to increases to ensure fairness and not just increases and wages based on service as really someone who contributes more or is vital to the workplace should be paid for that reason.

J'ai une très mauvaise opinion de l'ANPE pour avoir été à la recherche d'un emploi il y a quelques années et pour vivre aux côté d'un employeurs qui y a fait appel. J'ai donc vu les "deux côtés" du marché de l'emploi. Je suis restée inscrite presqu'un an à l'ANPE sans qu'acun boulot ne me soit proposé. Tout ce que j'ai fait c'est un atelier d'une après-midi pour apprendre à faire un CV et une lettre de motivation. Je savais déjà les faire mais on m'a forcée la main pour m'y inscrire. Au final, le conseiller m'a dit que cela ne servait à rien de rester inscrite car j'étais surdiplomée oO Pour avoir envoyé des annonces pour chercher différents vendeurs... la mise à jour n'est jamais faite et ils envoient des personnes ne correspondant pas du tout au profil demandé, ce qui fait perdre le temps de l'employeur qui finir par fuir l'ANPE. Avez-vous eu des expériences similaires ou différentes? Qu'est ce qu'il faudrait changer à l'ANPE pour la rendre performante?

I dont think Toluna would be able to get vouchers from the plastic surgeons as the price per voucher would be more than the total of your points!

In my opinion and experience good looking people get further and better opportunities not because they are batter at a job but simply because they are more pleasing to look at.

Bonjour, J'ai l'impression que tout va mal en France. Après avoir fait 5 ans d'études après le Bac, je n'ai pas réussi à trouver d'emploi. Après 2 ans de galère, j'ai fini par passer des concours et devenir professeur des écoles. J'ai donc un boulot "stable" ce qui est déjà une chance (et pas du tout une vocation par contre!) mais je remarque que des gens qui étaient dans ma classe au lycée et qui n'ont pas vraiment fait d'études gagnent deux fois plus que moi! Des fois je me dis que j'aurais dû faire un BTS tourisme, je ferai un boulot qui me plaît et je serais sûrement meiux payée!

Il semble en effet que les études dans le parcours universitaire - Il semble en effet que les études dans le parcours universitaire français ne conduisent pas à un job .Peut-être les parcours sont-ils trop éloignés des réalités du monde du travail, des entreprises et je crains que la réforme des universités n'aille pas dans ce domaine vers un mieux. Ce que je constate autour de moi, c'est que le travail vient après les stages, d'où l'importance de leur choix, mais cela dépend beaucoup surtout des réseaux que chacun peut se construire. De plus, on enseigne en France de multiples matières qui n'ont aucun débouché concret, alors si on s'engage dans ces domaines par pure passion et sans projet professionnel précis, on est déçu,pointant à l'ASSEDIC et frustré. Mais il est vrai aussi qu'en tant que parent, j'ai toujours conseillé à mes enfants de faire ce qui leur plaisait même si les débouchés semblaient minces...on est jeune à 18 ans pour choisir pour une vie, le monde bouge aussi... Un domaine dans lequel il n'y a pas de chomage, c'est l'artisanat, de qualité, maintien des techniques anciennes et qu'il faut revaloriser aux yeux de nos jeunes.

Moi je suis conseiller en gestion de patrimoine, je me déplace au domicile de mes prospects ou clients et je leurs apporte des solutions en gestion d'épargne, en préparation de la retraite, en défiscalisation, je propose des crédit, aide les particulier dans la préparation de la transmission de leur patrimoine, et bien d'autre chose encore. EDF veut augmenter ses tarifs, l' Education Nationale prévoit déjà une première grève, les prix montent, pas les salaires....les syndicats vont-ils se mobiliser contre la déréglementation du temps de travail? La situation est si dure que chacun a peur de perdre son emploi, alors y aura- t- il ou pas des mouvements sociaux?

Unless you are temping or part time you are legally entitled to sick leave under the employee relations act unless you signed a contract that negates that right with time in leiu or something similar in which case you were very silly. All full time employers are entitled to sick leave and if you are not getting any and it was clearly stated in your contract I would suggest that you contact the employee relations council and get some advice on how to approach it. Here is an extract from a website on the holiday laws "How much holiday should I get? Most full-time workers have a statutory right to 24 days' paid annual leave, and from 1 April, 2009 this increases to 28 days. There are a few workers who are not automatically given these rights. But I'm not a full-time employee There are some exceptions to the statutory holiday rights: If you work part-time or for an agency, you have the same entitlement, with leave calculated on a pro-rata basis; The maximum amount of leave is up to the employer and should be set out in a your contract of employment; Members of the armed forces, police, or civil protection services don't have statutory entitlement to paid leave. They must rely on their contracts to specify their entitlement; Self-employed people also have no statutory right to paid annual leave. I am a nurse but only work part time on a 'bank' contract so do not get any paid holidays or sick time - if I cancel a shift I do not get paid for it. Certainly an incentive to crawl into work even if you feel like dying! I find it a bit unfair as the girls on proper contracts get all the benefits. However, it works both ways and if I say I can't work on a particular day or a particular week, nobody can complain so I don't have to fight over holidays, and if I want to go out for a night, I can just tell my employer I am not working that day. Would be nice to think there was some backup and security there if I was really ill though.

Ich finde man sollte sich immer Weiterbilden, man weis ja nicht was kommt. Vielleicht muß man sich mal neu bewerben oder braucht selbst einen Berufswechsel. der Hauptgrund aber für mich ist, dass man öffters mal was neues machen sollte um nicht komplett die Lust an der Arbeit zu verlieren.

Als junger Mensch weiß man nie, wozu man das alles noch braucht. Der Arbeitsprozess ist vor allem so schnell lebig, sei es die Technik, die PC-Programm o.a., da kann man einfach nicht auf einem Level stehen bleiben, um hier mitsprechen zu können! Natürlich muss man sich als Rentner oder Fastrentner nicht mehr sooo intensiv darum kümmern und auch nicht auf Teufel-komm-raus irgendwo sich weiterbilden. Es muss im vernünftigen Rahmen bleiben und auch alters-u.interessengerecht sein.

El Euribor nos está matando a los que estamos hiotecados, peor los alquileres tampoco están nada baratos. Cada día está todo más caro y el ir a un supermercado te deja a dos velas... Cuando era estudiante compartía piso con otra gente, supongo que esta situación se alargará para casi toda la vida para mucha otra gente. ¿Cuál es tu situación? ¿Cómo llegas a fin de mes?

Moi, je travaille en tant que vendeuse dans ce milieu et je suis toujours étonnée qu'il y est encore des personnes qui croient que ce milieu a des marges énormes et que l'on peut faire d'énormes remises. C'est totalement faux, c'était vrai il y a 30 ans. A ce jour ça peut être vrai pour les foires tel que les stands de cuisines ( et encore pas tous ). Si on vous refuse une remise ou qu'on vous accorde qu'une petite, ne vous offusquez pas mais dites-vous que vous êtes dans un magasin qui n'essaie pas de vous "bézez"( j'espère que ce mot ne vous s'offenseras pas )

Do you think it is now harder to find work or the job you want in - Do you think it is now harder to find work or the job you want in the UK? Do you think that companies who are looking for empolyes want to much such as serval years experience, the highest quilatication etc.

I have never been out of work since leaving school and have bee working for the same company for almost 28 years. My daughter again has never bee out of work but has struggled to get into her chosen career. She has applied for several child care jobs and teaching assistant jobs. She has all the qualifications required for the jobs but every job she has applied for she keeps getting replies telling her that they cannot consider her for the post as she has no experience!!! She has done over 800 hours in placements but that isn't counted as experience. I wonder how she can be expected to gain experience if no one will take her on so she can get that experience. She did get a job in the care industry but working with disabled young adults rather than with the children she had trained for.
