I am a law student and to be completely honest, I think there are far too many laws. One law is made and then another is made to cover the loop holes, and if a law has flaws they don't bother to get rid of it. But mainly I think that some of the laws we have are completely pointless and useless, considering people don't enforce them, and people just ignore them all together, it just annoys me that there are all these laws that you can be prosecuted for breaking, but everyone knows they're useless.

Sounds like short termism to me. The Government needs to be looking to the longer term. People will be affected by the current economic crisis for some time to come so they will need to be supported. As for a windfall tax on energy companies? Could push the price of energy up even further. I also believe that the Government should have foreseen a potential economic slowdown on the horizon and should have saved accordingly so as not to have needed to impose a windfall tax in the first place.

Yes. I think we should. Why? because they serve no purpose so far as the people of Britain are concerned and they are an absolute example of how Britain, despite its pat, is yet to grow up as a society at large. WE have credit crunch and fuel price increases and food inflation and an obviously worsening weather and climate situation and yet we still insist on pumping public money into a family that could and should pay its own way. I want all the crowns, and the paintings and all the Palaces brought into the 21 century and to do so we need to hand them over to the people. I am not advocating public hanging or flogging of x-royals. I just don't want them around any more-I don't want to see any more bowing and scraping of people who are no better than the rest of us.
