Read the story of Corporal Tom Neathaway. Tom triggered a booby trap in Afghanistan. The immediate effect was the loss of both feet. He was not expected to live, but following surgery, he had both legs amputated above the knee. He later also lost his left arm. And in an amazing display of courage, what did he say about it?

"There are guys who are a lot worse off than me". WHAT????

Then he went on to say "I can't feel sorry for myself - I have a good life, a good-looking girlfriend, a job and my own car".

On top of that, he wants to get back into active service. Really puts things into perspective, doesn't it?

ok do you have your tea here as this one is a long one
my fiance had been out one night well since he finished work at 2pm with his mates at a pub in our town, he hadnt had anything to eat and had no money as he asked me to collect his wages that day, he said he would be in at 6 for his dinner, i called him with no response and when i got through to him at 7pm he babbled something about going to his mums but didnt make any sense, i left it an hour, called his mum and she hadnt heard from him so i got the baba ready and walked to the pub, the guy he was with said he left 3hrs before at 7pm and was supposed to be on his way home, he had his work bag and uniform on. i went home and his mum phoned saying that she had been called from a guy who had found his mobile in the totally opposite direction of our house..by this point i was terrified of where he was. my parents came to my sisters and watch the kids at 10.30 whilst me and my sister went out with the torches hunting everywhere right up til 12.30 when my bro in law picked us up, he had drove up to the pub and found his works jacket outside..i was hysterical, we went and spoke to the manager who said he had came back and left with his mates after they refused to serve him. where had he been for 4hrs..we will never know. i got his mates no of the barmaid and spent til 2pm trying to get him as i was told he was with him..he wasnt and the next morning i left home at 7am and went to his other mates house only to get abuse from his mum for pressing the buzzer saying he wasnt there, i didnt know what to do, we had checked with police and hospitals with no success, i went to my sisters and home incase he had came home and we phoned police again who told us they would be up, by this point i had to explain to his boss why he wasnt at work and he was upset and concerned. the police called me back half and hour later and i honestly thought they were going to tell me he was dead but they said they had him in custody in another town, i was so relieved. i went to collect him and asked for the full story from police as he couldnt remember a thing (i still think his drink may have been spiked) turns out he had tried to come home and went the wrong way towards some forrests, when he had gotten to the end he didnt know where to go and hhad wandered into someones garden. the person decided to phone the police at 3.30am instead of helping him and apparently he asked for something to eat, the man accused him of trying to open his door with intent to steal..yes this was an expensive house..do you think this would have happened if it had been a council property? he was so confused he gave the name of a known wanted drug dealer and the wrong address so they arrested him. he wasnt doing any harm and certainly wouldnt steal anything. the man reported him to his work and pursued a court case against him as he thinks he was trying to steal, the lawyer was adamant that the judge would laugh but he pleaded guilty to the false details part..unfortuantely they have set a trial for next march...9mths after it happened. i personally think its so silly that i has went this far just because of whos garden he fell into..what do you all thnk..sorry it was so long x
