This was a relief to me, I must say. Having four dogs it was going to cost me a fortune. The estimate was £600 per dog per year! That was a huge £2,400 for my crew, and on top of that mine are already insured for veterinary fees.
They certainly need to do something to tighten up on those people who can't or won't look after their dogs responsibly. I don't know quite what the answer is though.
For once though the government have realised that penalising the good owners wasn't the way to go.
Common sense prevails, sometimes!

When I picked him up from the previous owner she said that she used to put puppy pads down for him but for the last two weeks he had not done anything in the house, I thought hmmm; previous to this I had been told that he was house trained. We got from Wednesday night to Saturday morning and no mishaps, then I took him to my daughter's. We left Pip in while we went shopping and to see my mum; we were gone about two hours. We returned to find two bits of no2 on the floor and a puddle. The floor is laminate and so what's the problem? I hear you ask. Only that he had taken a cushion off the sofa and done the puddle on that. Do you think he thought he was doing us a favour and putting a puppy pad down for himself?

A daughter of one of my daughter's work colleagues wanted to get rid of her dog because it was a bit much for her with an eighteen month old baby to cope with as well. She wanted it to go to a good home and as I was dogless she has given it to me. His name is Pip and I would tell you what breed he is but I have forgotten! He is quite a bit smaller than I am used to but I think we will be able to get along.
