With money tighter for most people I,m sure more recently I thought I,d start a topic to share a few of your own tips for saving a bit of cash and maybe we'll all learn some from each other...however zany or bizzarre!!..I'll start with a few (1) Always use a comparison site every year at least when changing your power supplier...then see if they feature on one of the 'cashback' sites for extra savings (2)..For those with young children who go to lots of parties, Buy toys up cheaply after Christmas from companies and you can save ££££ later when you need them (3) (bit naughty this one I know!)..Buy Broccoli?...Snap the thick end off that you won't normally eat!...Over To you

A work colleague of mine just found out that he is owed about £2000 in council tax rebate as the house he's lived in for 30+ years had been in the wrong tax band. The lucky guy should be getting a huge cheque within the next couple of months and I think he's contemplating a cruise around the Mediterranean! I think if it was me then a holiday would be my first choice, or I may get a few funky gadgets then save the rest and put it towards a future house deposit. What about you? How would you invest or spend such a sum of money?
