Personally no I do not. At the moment the country is still in the recession, and so many people to safeguard their jobs have taken pay freezes or pay cuts and they want pay increase. I think it is a selfish move for the economic climate. Small businesses which rely on the post for their turn over getting those all important cheques in the post to be able to pay their suppliers, surely people will just turn to alternative methods such as internet banking (so this will case a loss of trade for thepostage system). I think that the postal workers should just be gretful to have a job at the moment and stop whining about having a pay increase and get on with your work, rather than try and put the country into a bigger recession.

So much for the promise that they would keep the UK production going! over 400 jobs are going to be lost for the citizens of the UK whilst production gets moved to Poland. I see Cadbury's as a great British institution and first to sell it to an American company such as Kraft was a big mistake, considering they made false promises that everyone knew they wouldn't keep. What will happen to the lovely Cadbury's chocolate we all know and love?

We have had the same postie, Terry, for a few months now and all through the bad snow he managed to deliver our letters and any small parcels. He is always cheerful and polite and he even offered to help us push the car when he saw us struggling to get it up the hill in the snow - we declined this offer and just put the car away and stayed in. We gave him a Christmas box and he was so grateful it was almost embarassing. I think the postie is the one that gets all the bad feeling when most of the time he cant control anything the Royal Mail does. Now what has prompted this from me you may well ask? I have been reading a little book called Dear Granny Smith, written by Roy Mayall (probably not his real name) who has been a postie for a lot of years. It is very enlightening and from the book you can imagine just how inept the Royal Mail management are. It outlines all the changes the postie has had to put up with over the years and the one sentence that really stick out is that the Royal Mail management do not understand is that the mail delivery is a service which takes time and the postie always used to have a bit of time for his/her customer. How well do you know your postie.?
