I shred all mine now, but it wasn't too long ago that I used to file them all. Well it used to be recommended that you kept all these sorts of things for seven years for tax purposes and so on! How times have changed.
Nowadays, of course, they recommend shredding everything so you can't become a victim of identity theft. We use the shredded paper as bedding for our rabbits, so its actually very useful to us! What we can't shred either gets recycled (if not confidential) or burned (i it is confidential). I still am not convinced internet banking is entirely safe so I do get monthly statement and such like, you see!
