Going to the hairdressers today, gonna let them loose to cut & dye my hair some shade of purple! woo! Shame my back is already aching at the thought of sitting in that chair for hours (I had back surgery 3 weeks ago) but it's gone time for me to get something done to my hair!

Does anyone else think hairdressers charge over the odds for their services? They may do a better job than us at home, but the prices are always crazy! When I was booking my appointment I heard someone saying they charged £20 just for a blow dry!!!

I ask because I live in a relatively small village of less than 1,000 inhabitants. We have three hairdressing salons, and all within 200 yards of each other. Strangely they all seem to be thriving!
Our nearest town is Newquay which is 7 miles away by road 6 as the crow flies and there are loads of hairdressers there too. I haven't noticed any other villages with such an abundance of hairdressers! Perhaps we all like to be pampered down here in Cornwall.

I hardly ever used to go to the hairdressers and i used to bleach or highlight my hair at home myself. It was in a terrible condition though and started snapping off when i blow dried it or straightened it. It hadn't been cut for over 12 months as it never seemed to grow.
Before Christmas i went and had my hair done light brown with a few highlights in and booked my appointment for January while i was there. I am going today for a colour. I also had my hair trimmed and it seems to have grown quite a bit in 6 weeks.
I never used to treat myself and get my hair done, but it is my new years resolution for this year as i need to get my hair back into a nice condition for my wedding.
