Over the last six months, due to various health problems my enamel started just dissolving away in front of my eyes and left me with some really unattractive top front teeth. They were perfectly clean, and my dentist said there was no decay, but when you lose that amount of enamel the dentine shows through and results in very yellow teeth. I was beginning to find it really demoralising.

I am now the proud owner of nice front teeth again, probably better than my originals, thanks to my dentist spending over an hour patiently applying layer after layer of composite resin veneer and then shaping and smoothing them. And, what is more, because she decided that this was clearly on health grounds and not elective cosmetic work, it was covered by an NHS flat fee. I am so happy, I had not realised how much it had been eating away at my self-confidence. Previously I was still smiling all the time, but then feeling embarrassed right away - I can now beam with impunity, without worrying that I will scare children :)
