I'll be taking part as a volunteer at a local archaeological dig for the next three days. I was there for three days a few weeks ago and we were uncovering Roman industrial remains. Things will have moved on a little since then, so it'll be interesting to be back. So if you don't see many postings from me over the next few days, you'll know why.

Then on Sunday it's the Imagineering engineering show in Coventry, aimed at children. I'm taking my son to see what he makes of it.

P.S. I've posted part 4 of the Famous Women in History poll series. Have a look (and at the previous three parts).

I am not entirely sure how one classifies the stretch of time from palaeolithic up until the Industrial Revolution, since it encompasses so many different periods of history, including the Romans and Medieval England. Hopefully the term I used made some form of sense though.

I have to say that I have often thought about what life must have been like in pre-industrial Britain. The thoughts were especially relevant today when I was walking in the strong winds and it was whistling through the trees. I could not help but wonder what earlier man would have thought. That they may have believed the noise to be the voices of the gods, or the whispering of some random demons. I would love to have been around at the time when people would have seen such magic in natural phenomena. I am a fan of earlier history, pretty much everything till the end of the Roman period. I just really adore it, and especially the beliefs of people with the mysticism that surrounded everything so if I were to pick a time to experience it would probably be somewhere in that time frame. Naturally I probably would not be so keen on battles, hunger, working fields, the tending of animals and/or crops, and certainly would not like the bathing and toilet arrangements (except maybe in Roman times!). But I would still love to experience that life.

What about you?

I have quite an odd eclectic choice of persons - Sultan of Brunei, Katie Price, my daughter's Headmistress, Prince Harry, Iggy Pop - I percieve them all to be interesting characters, all to be nice human beings.
I'll explain my choice of Katie Price. Inspite of the often negative media portrayal of her I think she is a very smart, down to earth young woman. She's unaffected by her wealth & fame and from the current fly on the wall series of her and family, she's strikes me as being a very caring & patient mother. My questions would be:
Did you ever imagine having the life you have now when you were a young teen?
Are you a workaholic?
Was it love at first sight with Peter?

Do you think cartoons are just for children or are they for adults aswell?
I think cartoons are for all ages because they have secret witty context that only older viewers will understand and they are fun to watch....
