My 17 year old daughter is having to make sure all her school skirts are on or below knee line.
the reason given in school is that above the knee skirts are too provocative and send out the wrong message to men.
The uniform for girls can be trousers or skirts.
I dont see why a skirt must be so long if the girls are not showing their underwear (because they can wear opaque tights) but that is not considered a reasonable compromise.
What does everyone think?
Should a school girl have to wear a skirt that is knee length or below only or are schools who make this rule being unreasonable?
Why not just make it trousers for everyone for example.

Whatever the length every child should wear the same. Unifrom prevents people from eing singled put due to not been able to afford the latest fashion items !

A lady in my son's school has 11 children and another on the way so yes that makes 12 she is on benefit and her oldest child is 16 and youngest is 1 but yet she wants to carry on.I work and i hve 3 children i do 42 hours a week and pay tax why the H**L should she be able to have so many and not work i think the government should have a strict number on the amount of kids you can have and stay on benefit. I worked hard up 2, two weeks before all my children were born i think the government is being too kind to those who for no reason at all dont get off their arses and go to work

A person who continues to have children and is on benefits is making a mockery of the system.
Instead of more money the larger their family grows, there should be other lesser assistance.
For example advice on home cooking and baking, making do and mending. Vouchers could be supplied which are only redeemable for basic foods eg.fruit ,veg ,fish, meat, flour, margarine and milk . The person claiming is then able to manually make a large range of meals but not overeat and the vouchers would be specific to themselves.(bit like rationing in wartime). They may not like it but hey, they can always get a job if they want take aways and nintendos. Same could happen for clothing.
Many parents stop producing children simply because they could not afford to feed ,clothe and house more.
When I was a child my father was out of work for 5 years and we had school dinners and the cheapest jumble sale clothes(left over at end of the sale). I always saw it as something I would not like to repeat when I grew up.
Living on benefits should only meet necessities and not be the best life style else why bother to work?
