We are now finding that many people are living to be well over one hundred years old. Would you like to live this long? I am not sure if i would. I suppose it depends on the quality of life. If i was in pain day in day out because of arthritis and other problems that tend to occur in the elderly, I don't think I would be very happy, not only because of the pain, but also because it may well affect mobility and mean I was confined indoors all the time. Another thing to consider is, what would my mental state be like? I may well be depressed if I have outlived most of my friends and some of my family, even possibly have outlived my children. I might be a bit muddled and confused and forgetful, which must be distressing. If i still had a lively mind and was reasonably active, and i saw people on a regular basis, and had things to love and care about and I wasn't isolated where i lived, then yeh, i think it would be great to live as long as possible, because i would have independence still and i would continue to find life worthwhile. how about you?
