it is so easy to blame the fast food outlets and advertising for overweight kids.the parents of these children are to blame not the companys.parents take their kids to these outlets as a way of life not as a treat, which is what it should be.it also much easier to let their child sit infront of a tv than take them for excersise.parents need to start taking responsibility for their children and stop blaming everyone else.i am a parent of 3 boys who have all the latest consoles but are not overweight because they exercise regularly and dont sit infront of a t.v screen for 5 hours a day.fast food is also a treat.parents need to try saying no when asked if they can go to mcdonalds.i do and it works.

Kids in particular seem to be getting bigger and there's not much excuse for it apart from parents laziness. There is far more nutritional info available now than ever before. Companies like McDonalds and Birds Eye are falling over themselves to make food 'healthier', no added sugar / salt / preservatives and suchlike. Basically kids can, if they wish, eat a 'healthier' fast food diet than ten years ago but they still seem to be getting fatter. Vegitating in front of TVs and consoles is probably most to blame. I think social work should get involved much sooner - it's nothing short of child cruelty half the time.
