No, personally i don't think it's a good idea. I know many people get credit or loan to buy christmas presents for their family and relatives. Its hard to enjoy any festival if you in debt.

A loan!!!!! Why? How much do socks and oranges cost these days? Do people really take out loans for Christmas? Folk amaze me. A loan for Christmas is a bad idea fullstop. Bad because it means your're spending money you don't have, and bad because it's just not necessary. Since when has celebrating the birth of Christ involved spendng so much money. You don't have to emulate the three wise men you know. Gold, Frankincense and Myrhh (how the flip does one spell this) are not essential stocking filllers.
