On Thursday 24th April the National Union of Teachers have called a national strike to complain about their pay and many schools will be shut. While I can see their point that their pay is laughable, should they really be allowed to strike? Their problem is with the Government, but it is the parents and children who suffer from strike action. I have only had two days notice, and so arranging alternative childcare has been impossibl, as a consequence I am having to use a day of annual leave and other parents are losing a day's pay to look after their children. It is also disrupting the childrens' education at a time when teachers are insisting that even doctor's and dentists appointments are made out of school hours to avoid such disruption. So is this strike fair?

no they shouldnt, i think they get paid enough for what they do, what about doctors and nurses? maybe if they stopped paying footballers so much there would be enough money for people who do something worth while

So the Government has decided that we have too many Post Offices to be economically viable and have decided to close them in their thousands. But is that fair on us the consumers? My mother now has to walk three miles just to buy a stamp, which means that she now has trouble doing alot of her daily business because she simply can't walk. And what about all the (mostly elderly) people, especially in rural areas, who rely on the Post Office for their money, banking services and bill payment. With banks pulling out of these areas surely it is up to the government to make sure that these people are not cut off from modern life.

Should my young son be encouraged to play with 'boys' toys rather than the dolls and pushcairs he currently plays with?

I have no problem with him playing with dolls as he is enjoying himself and would go out and buy him a 'boy doll' to use if he wants one, thou my family members, mainly the older generation i might add, keep taking it off him and give him an action man or football to play with instead.
