My 15yr old son says we shouldn't keep using grounding as a punishment as he is too old for it now ! So what other forms should be used ? Of course it depends on the crime..For example being excluded from school, not coming home on time, not coming home at all, stealing ?

my daughter is 16 and at college .i grounded her last week for 5 days and made her stay at home when she finished college.i dont think 15 or 16 is to old to get grounded ,if they do wrong they take their punishment ,you have got to show as a parent that u mean wht you say when a child is grounded and never back down or give in,that way the child will think next time before doing wrong

in my case i give my son two chances to stop misbehaving, i then found him in possesion of a large chunk of canabis and promptly took him to the police where he was charged with possesion and given a caution. He is 15.

I have given mine many many chances, i wish i could do what you have done, i can't though for fear of retribution from him. He too is 15.

I think Lost is the greatest show around at the moment. What are your opinions on the show?
