I find it so incredible that a place like toluna can have so many wonderful, kind and caring people all under one roof but it does. I think the messaging system has enabled us to build friendships on a higher level than ever before and although we get the odd person who will spoil things basically most of the members are wonderful. What do you think?

Some people seem to genuinely believe they have the best singing voice ever but really they are absolutely tone deaf. What do you think it is that makes then convinced they can sing?
I was thinking of programmes like the x factor where you can see time and time again one after the other terrible singers who just pitifully can’t sing. I can’t sing and am tone deaf the difference is i know it and can hear it for myself why can’t they? xx lulu

An Afghan bill allowing a husband to starve his wife if she refuses to have sex has been published in the official gazette and become law.

I couldn’t believe what i was seeing when i read this story today. No wonder some people feel racist towards people like these when they appear to be so inhumane towards other human beings never mind their own wives.
I just can’t understand how they can treat woman this badly. What would happen i wonder if a husband didn’t want to have sex with his wife? I suppose if the woman starved him she would probably be stoned to death. Please give me your opinion and try to help me understand what these people are thinking

Oh my goodness, can this really be true I ask myself but it obviously is. I am shocked. My first reaction without going into great lenghty thought (do I really want to go there!?) is that it is about possession. In my limited knowledge of this particular part of the world and it's laws I do think it is down to male domination and ignorance, thuggery and bullying. In my limited readings of Afgahistan I do know that in the 70s they had a University(yes women studied there too) and a fairly civilised "normal" society. It is frightening to think how power and thuggery combine and reduce society to this inhuman way of existence ... and more terrifying, that some how it has become acceptable in their land. Shocking, truely shocking. Thank you for highlighting ... I want to enlighten myself more about this absolute terror... those poor unfortute women.
