Tv shows are there to cater for all tastes and cover all genres but who does it better, USA or UK?

My heart says UK but my head says USA!

Why? The USA seem to have stronger story lines more gripping subject matter, bigger names and obviously bigger budgets. All of these result in a slicker end product and multi season commissions. Ok so we have our soaps that have been running since the year dot and they cover real life issues and social situations but how many times (in real life) do we know someone who has slept with every member of the opposite sex within a 10 house radius? How many "Betty's Hotpots" have to be consumed before someone says they don't like it or would rather a fajhitta wrap? I could go on but I think I might loose the will...!

The UK tv industry needs to make itself more appealing. For starters it needs to encourage its script writers and crew to stay here and not fall victim for the USA brain drain and the lure of the sparkle and showbiz of Hollywood.

We do still produce some cracking TV but they are few and far between. Prime Suspect is always a winner - bring Jane Tennison back from retirement! Rebus and co are always on the ball. One thing I have to say we do well is crime drama. Many of the stories that are adapted here are by British authors - this maybe why it works well. The Americans on the other hand have the rest covered, Grey's Anatomy, Lost, 24, CSI, West Wing, Brothers and Sisters etc etc.

For me I have to say that the USA win on the TV Serial stakes, but it doesn't have to be this way!

UK. USA steals from us like the names of places. Oh and we're more important, hence it's called English and not American. =p

I have always gone au naturale in the make-up department, unless I am going out. I am always quizzed by my sisters about why I don't wear make up. My responce to them is that it makes my face feel tight, the more you wear it the more you look like you need it when you don't have any on plus I don't want to have the "tangoed" look that they have when they have been using the wrong colour of foundation!

Maybe if I had a job which had me under close observation or I became self conscious about my appearance then maybe I would dig out the slap and put it on, but until then I am happy to glow the natural way.
