My husband thinks £40 I think this is excessive what do you think?

It probably costs a minimum of £5 a day to feed him.
Add, say, 1/4 of the household bills, plus a nominal amount towards repairs and renewals. If he quibbles, tell him to look at the cost of renting even a grotty bedsitter. He should do his share of household tasks, too. All my children lived by these rules until they left home. They all respect us, and manage their finances very well.

The slugs have been having a field day with my dwarf beans, making the leaves look like green lace. I do have slug pellets, but don't fancy sitting up all night in the rain trying to get the little blighters with my pea shooter and slug pellets! (Humour bypass brigade - that's a joke. OK?) I'm not sure whether using slug pellets counts as not being organic. When I was a kid somebody showed us how to give slugs a horrible death by putting salt on them. I don't do that! But how do you get rid of them humanely?

I have common land across the road from my house. I used to go out early in the morning and late in the evening and collect the little ***** and release them in the wild. I'm sure that they had a homing instinct, though, and came straight back. Now, although I hate killing anything, I do resort to the dreaded slug pellets. I have guilt feelings over it, though.

i must have started gardening since a very early age, i guess like my grandma "god rest her soul" i am green fingered. the only problem i have is to get rid of weed growing, i have tried everything but still manages to re-appear. Any good advice? i thought weed killers would do the trick, unfortunately not, i have tried different brands too.

Adore it. So relaxing, in spite of the aches and pains, and lovely to sit and look at the reults. Something different every day.
