Who do you think was responsible for breaking up the Beatles? Many would say Yoko Ono. Some would say Phil Spector, some Allen Klein. Some even say Paul McCartney because it was him who announced it. I personally think they were coming to their natural end as a band. They had drifted apart as composers and artists BEFORE Yoko and Linda came on the scene. Althought every song composed by Paul or John had the Lennon/McCartney tag, they pretty much wrote their songs alone in the end. It came to a natural end to make way for the new era of three super solo stars, with their first solo albums (All Things Must Pass , McCartney, Imagine) all being classics. I just wish the breakup wasn't as acrimonious.
