I worked in an office in Liverpool late sixties, all young people who used to go out together, night time and lunch times, to the pub. One day, we went to the local as usual in the lunchtime, to this day I don't know what happened, we all, guys and girls, had two lagers each, but everyone returned to work very tipsy ...and then all hell broke loose..one girl collapsed behind the loo door, so the fire brigade and an ambualnce were called. One of the guys punched the boss who called their Police. Someone was sick all over the floor, and we had decorators in, who just couldnt believe their eyes as all the emergency services arrived at once. The Police took one look at me, sitting with my head on the boss's shoulder saying, But why do you always tell me off, just because i get in late sometimes??? and they said, Oh it must be you who's been assaulted? The one elderly spinster took a fainting fit with the shock of it all, the bloke who'd thrown the punch got sacked, the girl who collapsed in the loo got sacked too - and the rest of us were told we must never go the pub in our lunchtime again ( we kept that up for about a week) it was funny but shocking and I'll never understand how we all got drunk so quickly that day....

-Life is a garden-

Life is a garden,
Good friends are the flowers,
And times spent together,
Life's happiest hours;
And friendship, like flowers,
Blooms ever more fair
When carefully tended
By dear friends who care;
And life's lovely garden
Would be sweeter by far
If all who passed through it
Were as nice as you are.

-The Best of Friends-

The best of friends, Can change a frown,
Into a smile, when you feel down.
The best of friends, Will understand,
Your little trials, And lend a hand.
The best of friends, Will always share,
Your secret dreams, Because they care.
The best of friends, Worth more than gold,
Give all the love, A heart can hold.

My shortest lived job was two hours. We were working as temps in London, and me and one of my friends were sent to a big office in Hendon. They had massive computers, which we had never seen in our lives before, and we were totally freaked out by them. We decided to leave, but muttered to each other we would stay until we had been given our cup of tea and biscuit. Immediately afterwards, I told the boss we were not staying as 'Its not our scene !'... The only reason i know the words is that my friend stilll has her diary from then, and we often read it and go into hoots of laughter, and there it states, 'Liz told the manager its not our scene' written down dead seriously. So we were there two hours, would have been even less if the tea had arrived more quickly!!
