Recently we have heard in the news of a worker being bitten by a rabid dog immported from Sri Lanka.
Should we be importing these animals as this incident shows the dangers involved. What is even more disturbing is that this week the RSPCA anounces that record numbers of animals are being abandoned.

Any body got any views?

I hear a lot of people moaning about immigration and the fact that British people are having to share resources with immigrants (please keep in mind that I myself immigrated from France 16 years ago and that I have been employed ever since, contributing to the economy). So I thought that instead of moaning, we could try and put our heads together and think of a system that could be put into place to reduce the amount of people coming into the country and filter the ones that just want a free ride. We should ask potential immigrants to meet the following: 1) they must speak English well enough to hold a job in a British company and to deal with everyday life (deal with insurance companies…), 2) they should have enough money saved to enable them to rent a flat / house and to pay for themselves for at least 3 months to leave them enough time to find a job, 3) they should not be entitled to receive benefit until they had worked in the UK for at least 6 months. 4) They should not be able to have the rest of their family move with them unless they can prove that they can support them once they have moved to the UK and they should be made financially responsible for all the members of their family that they bring over. It may sound a bit harsh but it is a system that may work. Whether you agree with me or not, please let me know what system you think we should put in place?

Why do we need to import skills when we have plenty of people already here to learn them. Sorry I forgot we've all got to have degrees and forget about craft based manual trades. Unfortunatly some body has to shovel the sh*t but the way education in this country is going we will need a masters degree in waste disposal to do it!!!! Bring back sensible apprentiships and stop immigration then we will be able to provide our own crafts people of the future.
