Yes - I fell into a river whilst 'building a dam' when i was about 6 years old! When I joined the Royal Navy I was a very good swimmer (won medals), and could swim a mile fully clothed. I also qualified as a diver. I am not able to swim as well or as far as I used to be able to, age and lack of fitness, but I am still a qualified 'life saver'. Strangely, I can swim better underwater than I can on the surface (with or without equipment).

Yes, learned through swimming with family/friends and also at school, at first only in the summer months at junior school in a freezing cold outside pool then later swimming lessons all year in the heated indoor high school pool. I say 'lessons' but we were largely left to amuse ourselves at one end of the high school pool while our teacher concentrated on her 'star pupils' at the other end, but that suited us well and we always had a great laugh. Our local aqua park has two giant flumes and must admit I get quite a buzz launching myself down them as hard as possible to get some speed up before landing in the plunge pool at the end; there's a timer clock above the plunge pool and I keep trying to beat my partner's time - yes, know that's pathetic at our age but still fun!

I love sweetcorn and think it should go in everything from bolognese to chilli to lasagne, on salads, with roast dinners. what do you think?
