In my opinion, the situation is quite simple. I like everything implied and talked about here. There are some positives, but also obviously the negatives. It's never a black and white affair, more of a grey issue. At the end of the day it's all down to opinion! And who is to say a certain person's opinion is better than another's? We should approach this more objectively, in order to make opinions all equally valid. In the end, we always have to count on others.

On Thursday 24th April the National Union of Teachers have called a national strike to complain about their pay and many schools will be shut. While I can see their point that their pay is laughable, should they really be allowed to strike? Their problem is with the Government, but it is the parents and children who suffer from strike action. I have only had two days notice, and so arranging alternative childcare has been impossibl, as a consequence I am having to use a day of annual leave and other parents are losing a day's pay to look after their children. It is also disrupting the childrens' education at a time when teachers are insisting that even doctor's and dentists appointments are made out of school hours to avoid such disruption. So is this strike fair?

Having passed through Dubai and suffering at the hands of the airport and its staff I can honestly say it was bad enough to put me off going there on holiday let alone moving there. I would like to go there on holiday at some point to get a better look at the country but still relieving the rude, arrogant, smelly, terrible people I encountered and the terrible experience and until I can get that out of my head I won't be doing it. As a woman I was actually pushed and shouted at and very nearly took to someone with the intent of doing them serious harm so the culture of the country may just not be suitable for me.
