It would be better for there to be an open format, like DVD, and then it is licensed out to manufacturers like Samsung and Panasonic to make the consoles themselves. That would hopefully mean better hardware quality while being less painful on your wallet. The monopoly situation would not happen if there was competition in the hardware and all the software was competing for one market. The only problem in this would be no equivalent of 'Xbox Live', with online gaming being more like the fractured (but free) PlayStation model. Market forces would keep the price of games stable - people are hardly going to fork over £70 per game these days, are they?

This is deffo not your own work mate. Why bother copying stuff from another site and post it up on here? It's people like you that make this world a sad and pathetic place to live. My advice is, grow up and think of something intresting to say about a subject yourself, and then write it down in your own words. PEACE
