Well I'm biased, I met my (now) husband online 5 and a half years ago, married exactly 3 months later, and we're still really happy. But it has to be said, in doing so I did run the gauntlet of some real whackos and very dishonest people first! I didn't meet up with anyone until there seemed like a really strong likelihood of getting on, and fortunately my husband came along so soon that I was spared too many dodgy experiences. But I think there is quite a potential for risk if you don't keep your wits about you.

I wouldn't say we were particular saddos. I lived in London, and had tended to only meet people through work, which was generally a mistake! My husband had pretty much given up going out at all to care 24-7 for a relative at that stage in his life, so it worked for us.

Have you had good/bad/indifferent experiences of online dating?
