I think the economic situation in Ireland at the moment is unbelieveable, the government are getting away with too much and we the people are the ones suffering for their mistakes!!!!!!!

O don’t even get me started on this one. I moved back here after twenty years in England and I have to say it was possibly the worst mistake of my life. The government is a joke here. The tax cut in England has made our taxes look ridiculous and I for one am heading north for all my Xmas shopping. Everything is cheaper there. The government is actually putting our vat up!! What do they expect people to do..? Take it. I hope everyone votes with their feet.. Or rather cars.. And goes north. A huge downturn in the economy might make them see sense and realize that we as a country are not idiots and should not have to pay through the nose for everything. As for English shops down south.. What a joke!! A survey two weeks ago published in the independent concluded that prices are on average 50% higher down south. The government should get their fingers out and put in guidelines to force prices to come into line with the north and the only difference should be the euro/pound difference. We may be an island and yes I accept that some things will be more expensive but with no choices to be made between gas or electricity suppliers etc people are just working to live over here and I am sick of it. Rant over.. For now.
