With my GCSE results out tomorrow and how hard i have worked for them , i feel quite annoyed that the government are making this assumptian. In my Physics and Chemistry lessons, the syllabus taught us topics that were only taught as A-level a few years ago. All this pressure to prove ourselves isnt doing anybody any favours.

I have to agree with Magnius-you have no point of reference and there are so many tools at your fingertips today which make "studying" easier. In fact, there is relatively little real study involved now - just a little net research and retain the facts. And as for Claire saying "I have to spend all my free time on my homework now"- that's nothing new! There has always been a big jump between GCSE's and A'levels but with the standard of university entrants getting worse each year that must show that school exams are easier than they were in years gone by. Unfortunately 16-18 year olds seem to think everything should be handed to them on a plate - but anything worth doing in life should be worth working hard for. I am sounding like a right grump - I must be getting old!!!
