And once you did find out what it was you had just eaten, did you receive something of a shock?

I spoke with a friend earlier, who while away only very recently, tucked into a dish of horse meat without prior knowledge of what was on the meu. He said he did find it difficult to eat in the first place as it tasted so awful, but didn't want to offend those he dined with as he was a guests and ate it all up, only to find it was horse meat. The reason for his upset, he owns two horses himself!

Luckily, I haven't had such an experience personally, but have other examples from past travels of friends where they didn't think to ask what was for supper before tucking into great platefuls! Sometimes, of dog! :-/

So. Ask, ask, ask!.......if not sure, is my moto from now on! ;)

For me, hide and seek, playing 'it' on roller skates, setting up tents in the garden were amongst some of my favourite childhood games. I couldn't wait for the play time bell to ring at primary school so that I could race to the playground and carry on playing a game I'd started earlier with my best friends.

I spent an evening reminiscing with some school pals I hadn't seen for some time about our primary school days, and we had a great chat about what we used to get up to and play. Of course most of my male friends remembered and mentioned playing kiss chase! ( funny that, huh?! ) the ladies amongst us remembered skipping and hop skip and jump, where you had to throw a stone onto a grid, numbered from 1 up to 10 and skip and hop, avoiding the grid with the stone on.

The boys always seemed to enjoy games that involved chucking each other onto the floor or throwing balls or heavy, sharp objects at each other! :-/

So what do you remember as being a favourite game? :)

Used to love playing Hopscotch in the playground at school and on the slabs outside our house.

Maybe it's me getting fussy with old age? But I have myself pretty unimpressed with what's hitting the cinema screens of late!

Horror movies that don't even invite a single goose bump to appear, comedies that make me want to weep rather than laugh! And I have only found myself buying a couple of DVDs that are newly released.

Nothing seems to leave me thinking, WOW! Now that was a good film! I keep raiding my DVD collection and watching the old tried and tested favourites of mine.

So seen anything that you think is actually worth seeing again? Or buying on DVD?

:)

I loved Star Trek although I'm not a Trekkie, Zachary Quinto was really good. Milk was a fantastic film, everyone in it was brilliant & Sean Penn definately deserved to win an oscar for his performance. Public Enemies is pretty good too, Johnny Depp is really good in it, mind you he's always good. Slumdog Millionaire was a really good film too & I'm glad it won so many awards. I also enjoyed The Curious Case of Benjamin Button although it was a bit long & quite sad.
