i cannot disagree with magnius more. The question was "do you think that children with special needs are more socially accecptable now than 10 years ago and what can be done to make them even more so?" not "lets slate kids with adhd and society for the mess they created".....special needs can be downs syndrome autism and angelmans syndrome, not just adhd and "that crap". That is the reason why kids with special needs are not as socially acceptable as i'd like. I wanted some feedback as to how i could make it a better place for these kids and to change opions of others, not for them to be slated to the hilt.

I think generally children with special needs are more accepted now. It is difficult though as 'special needs' is used as an umbrella term for so many things now and can be quite misleading. I definitely think that it is a great idea to have special children in mainstream schools where poss; other children then grow up alongside them and do not think of special needs children as being particularly different to them.
