yes to asia and mainland europe. england is too dull

There are loads of places in the UK I haven't been to yet so I'll be staying in the UK this year. Also, i had a bad experience whilst abroad with both the hotel and the locals. The locals kept taking my little boy's hat off and rubbing his hair - apparently it's common for them to do that to blondes in Portugal. Also a woman picked up my son (then 3yrs old) out of the baby pool, while I was sat there. I went nuts and called the hotel manager down who translated. He said the woman thought he was lost and was just taking him to reception. I wanted the police to be called as he was just infront of me, in no distress or anything but he refused and said she was trustworthy! Sorry but at least I know the language over here and can call the police for myself if anything like that were to happen again, although he's now 9 and almost as tall as me!

At 35 years old I have just paid my first visit to America - New York to be exact. I have never had a huge opinion of America however, this trip really enlightened me and I must admit, I have completely changed my point of view. With the exception of one very ignorant hotel employee I found the Americans themselves extremely pleasant, polite, genuine and very friendly. Being in New York, a city that only 20 years ago was the most dangerous place in the World I felt very safe, never worried at any time, "rode the subway" with no problems whatsoever and generally had a very enjoyable stay. I can't wait to go back - New York definitely but now I have had my eyes opened I would love to explore other parts of the country.
