no, not been around much lately...moving house end July, and my mother has had a fall which needed hospitalization, then a nursing home, which is "temporary" though I doubt it as she fluctuates, with perfect verbal dexterity, between any year from 1978 ish onwards, is confused as to whereabouts and sees other people who are not there like an old lady using the bathroom after her, though it could be ghosts I suppose. Back to the packing cases....

Hi Lucinda, I haven't seen you around recently and am wondering if you are OK, I hope you are. I have added you to my following list and hope this is OK with you. Yours in Christ, Deadwood.

Me, I think definitely yes. For these reasons: a) knowing the odd person who became vey affluent they had to work so hard that they looked really unhealthy, had hardly any quality time, and attracted multiple scroungers, fraudsters, and freeloaders. b) people who desire to be rich acquire many senseless desires, it says somewhere, and I agree c) some Greek philosopher (would have to look this up to say which one) commented on going round the market on how many things he did not require... the concept here is if there are lots of things you can see that you don't really want or need you have a much higher chance of happiness. Enough from me, what do you think??

Yes it is possible that one can be too rich, that is when you get to the point where you are more than comfortable.

I am a bit bemused. I am happy to sign up as a "follower" of someone who represents a set of political beliefs I follow. And if this is then described as being a "fan" then, ok, not esp. keen on the term but the man in question is someone i can look up to, older, wiser, and has led a life of great courage and integrity. But do i just worry about the wellbeing of this person and ignore this request from an old friend who has written some poems, and has become her own fan and invites me to join her, or is it a Facebook ironic culture that I am unaware of?
my OpinionOpinion by my Opinion
No. i am not on facebook and as such non of my friends can or has ever asked me to be their fan on facebook.

ok, a nostalgia trip.. I think I would like to bring back the glue that came in pots with a thick coat of wax on and smelt like almonds ( can't remember the name), the shells that opened in water, and grew plants ( do they still exist?) a strange toy called a lite-a-brite where you made pictures from light and pegs, and moulds which you could fill with liquid plastic ( have never come across them since.) Health and safety may have done for some of these, I don't know, but if so it is a bit of a shame.
Malcolm McDonaldOpinion by Malcolm...
I would bring back cheese n onion flavour Ringo's.

I seem to recall a sweet called Mint Cracknel ? Something like that but i recall enjoying it.

Oh and i used to love Creamola foam which apparently can still be found at an online old sweets site the name of which i forget.
