The population of our tiny island is growing and growing and we are having difficulty supporting those who are here. I think we need to stop immigration, but I also feel that we need to limit the number of children people can have. Every new person needs a home, food, a car and a job, and we are getting to the point where there is just not enough of some things to go around. Perhaps we should place a limit on the number of children people can have, maybe one or two.

This is a ridiculous and unworkable idea as you cannot physically limit how many children a person has without enforcing some kind of sterilisation upon people when they have reached their limit, and this is a colossal infringement of their human rights. This is something that they have been doing in China for many years, leading to millions of babies being taken to vast orphanages because the parents had already reached their child quota. And what of the future? Two people have one child, which means with each generation the population halves, that might sound good but it would soon destroy the country and its economy, meaning we would just have to reply on further immigration to make up the shortage.

I have been thinking quite a bit about this issue since my friend said that when she is 80 she is going to go abroad and have herself "put down" Do you think we should have voluntary euthanasia in this country? I, personally am in favour as long as the system is not abused by people lookiing to finish off relatives so they can get their hands on their inheritence. I think we would have to have some kind of system where a person has to have a legal document stating their wishes, a living will if you like. What do other people think?

I fully support the idea of legalising euthanasia in the United Kingdom. There are many people forced to suffer in agony with no hope of coming through their condition, and they face a bleak and terrifying death at the end of it. I knew an old lady, who literally choked to death over the course of three days, yet the doctors had to keep making her comfortable and extending her miserable last hours gasping for breath, she begged the doctors to kill her, but because of ridiculous UK laws they were powerless to help. Why do we let people suffer and humanely destroy our pets?
