I was surprised to hear that the young girl was miming her song, however I was even more surprised that the reason she was used was because she was considered to be prettier than the original young girl who sang the song. I have never really thought that the chinese were as hung up about appearance as us in the west - maybe I was wrong, however I feel that with such young children its dangerous to put such a focus on how they look especially with eating disorders and teenagers having plastic surgery on the rise. What I feel is that talent outweighs beauty and the young girl who really sang the song should have been able to showcase her talent - its unfair that people were willing for someone else to take the praise.

It is a shame but as Magnius and Cynthia has said it is a shame and i think the Chinese have had more than their fair share of slating, i am sure the London Olympics are not going to be trouble free. It is a shame that the original girl wasn't shown but did she know, was she okay with it, have these questions been thought of . I didn't see it anyway so cannot comment on it that much. But as in every show on t.v. the prettier ones always get through in competitions whether they can sing or not so it isn't anything new

mayb however i would like to think we hav the inteligence to be the masters of our own fate and not use mediums as a scapegoat to explain our actions

if hip hop and rap are bad influences then so is any other genre of film art or literature that reflects on something dark.
