Jehovah's Witnesses are very friendly people, who care about their neighbours. The reason they call from door to door is because they have found the Bible holds out a wonderful hope for the future and they wish to share this news with others and give them the same comfort and hope. They feel that they are obeying Jesus' command to preach and are following the example of his disciples. If people are not interested, they will leave with no problem!
The other main problem people seem to have with them is Christmas/birthdays - the reason they do not celebrate these is because all their beliefs are based on what the Bible says, and the Bible does not tell us when Jesus was born, and it shows birthdays do not please God. However, their children have lots of fun and are given presents.
Also, the blood issue - the command for Christians to abstain from blood is in the Bible and because of the stand that Witnesses have taken in this regard has led to many excellent alternatives to blood transfusions, and in fact these alternatives are now viewed by doctors as better than blood.
If you have questions about their beliefs, why don't you ask them when they call, or even ask them why they keep calling on you?
