Having lived in Spain for a while i think its just about right in the UK. For a cold we can get everything we need without visiting the doctor but we can't get medecines that may not be appropriate. In Spain i got antibiotics from the chemists without seeing a doctor at all!

talk to your pharmacist they can advise on many different alternatives and recomend the treatment necessary. as for OTC antibiotics, we already have seen problems with over prescrbing antibiotics within the nhs
great
no lots of peapole out there will try and abuse the sistem
ok
completely depends on the drugs!
Sometimes its necessary, Dr's take appointments take long time and I suppose they do encourage it!
There are lots of over-the-counter medecine's that are much cheaper than prescriptions and most pharmacists will be very helpful
Very often you can get sorted out with appropriate medication by seeking the advice of the pharmacist at your local chemist. The chemist can recommend the correct remedy for your ailment and if necessary the pharmacist will tell you that you need to see a GP with your problem, and of course if you have an emergency problem on your hands it would be wise to go to yr doctor in the first instance. Your doctor will be pleased though if you see your chemist for less major conditions, and you will often find that over the counter medicine can work out cheaper than paying for a prescription.
ok
yyyyyyyyyy
