Personally this is a very difficult choice. Monet's beautiful use of colours and shading has always attracted me to any museum holding his paintings. The last exhibition i saw held the water lily pond paintings which were magnificent. But i have always had a preference for the Poppy fields in Argenteuil...

I have had the opportunity to see several of Monet's works in real life and I think all of his art work tends to have a really gentle balance of colour and the whole impressionism movement was brilliant for that. If I had to pick one piece of art it would be San Giorgio Maggiore at dusk. It was painted in 1908 in Venice and I had not realised before I saw this painting in a museum that he had travelled to italy. Ilike the colours of the sunset. It is the painting featured in the film The Thomas Crown Affair. I have a print of the painting in my home too.
