-AIDS spreading exponentially. -Energy prices rising exponentially (crude oil up 500% in 5 years.) -Population growing exponentially. -Global average temperature rocketing.
Add to this the fact that we are overdue for a flu epidemic (the last one killed more people than the first and second world wars combined) and I see a pretty bleak outlook. Increasingly erratic climate leads to droughts, floods and hurricanes, rising energy costs cripple industrial economies leading to a permanent economic downturn and mass starvation, energy hungry technologies are lost as survivors (re)turn to the traditional lifestyles of the subsistence farmer, scavenger and hunter-gatherer.
All sounds a bit Mad Max I know, but the aforementioned trends are undeniable. Don't let the horror blind you to the truth.
fluffy little clouds oh and ice cream sunday soup no it wont realy change quite the way you expect it to it will be a lot colder and more bad weather the world will balance nature all on its own but bad for us in every way
It will be in a far worse state - more drastic weather, etc if mankind dont take responsibilities for their actions and change their ways for the better. It's the only home we've got, we should take care of it.
It is estimated that we have already reached peak oil (Meaning that the world's oil supply has or will shortly be 50% depleted). The effects of this will be disastrous. For instance, as the amount of oil declines and the quantity of quality oil declines it will be come more expensive to drill and refine the oil. Prices at the pumps are guaranteed to skyrocket. Also, oil dependent economies, such as the United States, are likely to collapse into a depression. Also the exponential increase in world population will bring the inherent problems quicker. Being that oil will be so expensive in the NEAR future, the chemical industry is also guaranteed to suffer severely.
