Im really sorry to hear about your stroke :( I hope you get better soon. Im a big movie buff but thinking of a positive and happy film is quite difficult! So im going to suggest my favourite films that I recommend everyone that you should really enjoy. Shawshank redemption is my fave film! Really moving and enjoyable film. My second favourite film is the Lord of the rings trilogy and that will keep you busy for days! I also really recommend Shrek and Finding Nemo yeah they are animated films but they are both really funny and both are my favourites. Below is a list that I have saved on my computer that I use when recommending films to people. You didnt mention your gender or what you like so they might not all appeal to you. But everyfilm on the list is rated high on all movie sites and I love them all! Robin hood prince of thieves, Stand by me, Pearl harbour, Bridget jones, Armageddon, Titanic, White chicks, Lock stock and two smoking barrels, The bank job, Fight club, American history x, The notebook, Con air, Ali g in the house, Leon, Football factory, This is England, Green street, Love actually, The beautiful mind, Good will hunting, The departed, Waterworld, Atonement, The boy in the striped pjamas, Sweeny todd, The illusionist, The prestige, The last of the Mohicans, Casino royale
I am glad to hear you are recovering well. One movie I really enjoyed was Little Miss Sunshine it was well made and although there were a few sad parts all in all it was lovely. I also enjoyed Happy Feet, it is an animation but really great. Bride Wars was funny, Last Chance Harvey with Dustin Hoffman was lovely, feel good, Fireflies in the Garden with Dakota Fanning and Queen Latifa was another nice movie. Hope this gives you some idea, if you go to IMDB website you might be able to watch some of the trailers.
