I've been attempting to reduce my carbon footprint for some time now and have been conscious that we're not doing our environment any good for a long time but the documentary I watched the other night shocked and horrified me. Scientists claim that global warming isn't a debate but a fact the scientific community is agreed upon. They tell us that in 20 to 50 years we'll all be starving and that even if we all stop polluting our atmosphere right away the emissions will keep rising a small amount. They're telling us that the human race and all species of life on our planet will be extinct in less than a century and I can barely think about anything else since watching it. Do you find this as disturbing as I do? Do you believe it? Are you going to do something about it such as planting trees in our garden or somewhere and reducing your carbon footprint?
I'm sorry to burst your Eco bubble, but it's recognised FACT that despite there having been a massive increase in emissions the global temperature has been COOLING for the last 7 years, and that is not because of intervention by man but rather because global warming and cooling is just a natural part of Earth's weather cycles.
I wish all these brilliant scientists could tell us all how the last lots of 'Global Warming' occured, before man and his machines caused the emissions that we all appear to be so frightened of now (and taxed over!). The Earth warms up and cools down quite naturally, regardless of mans interventions. Many scientists (freely employed, not attached to 'the Green Lobby' or Politcal Parties) have tried to explain this, but are given much less opportunity in the media (could it be because we would all start to realise that we are being conned?). The Earth is currently in a period of cooling, not warming, as part of its natural cycle. Even if you 'change your carbon footprint', exactly what difference will it make? Not one iota. Pollution (man made) is a completely different argument, and that is why we should all recycle, and reuse bags, etc, and try to find 'cleaner' fuels - but it is not 'The Cause' of Global rises and falls in temperature.
