We are all worshiping in one form or another, it is simply that the form is like our spoken languages of the world.
Some are French, German, Punjabi, Hindu, American, Australian even. But we all recognise the difference in language according to the country we are in, and the multi-culturality of the world is accepted as different people now live in different countries than where they originated.
I believe if religion was looked on with the same eyes of acceptance as language, we could all get along better.
I am Pagan and I have travelled and spoken with many different people of many different cultures and after putting this opinion to the people I meet, it brings a better understanding that we all have something in common - Faith!
No matter how we practise it (As long as it harms none), we are worshipping in one form or another, 'Just in a different Language'.
I thought that they already were recognised by society, although as 'magnius' states, just try and get a 'religious' day off. I am more of an Agnostic, but it appears to me that there is considerable more sense in some of the Pagan rituals and beliefs than in the so called 'mainstream religions', and I cannot remember Paganism causing any Wars! Perhaps if Paganism was taught in school everyone would have a better idea of what paganism is all about, rather than resorting to the 'horror movies' types of thoughts and ideas
Probably better than all the others but then I have never studied it, so to make an informed opinion is very difficult, especially as I am athiest and do not believe in any of them as I think they are just like fairy storys
I don't think that there are enough followers from a world or country view for this to be instituted as a recognised holiday religion. I think it is recognised as a religion by most people who at least know of it if not fully understand what it is exactly. To be honest you don't really hear about it much unless you are in that part of society or when they have major celebrations like the summer soltice etc. I think its a great religion and really natural and I think people could benefit from understanding more about it and what it embraces.
Actually, paganism and witchcraft already are recognised religions but unfortunately they aren't taken that seriously. Pagans are by law entitled to take days off work for religious holidays (but most employers won't let you). It's about time it was taught in school along with all other religion.
