I was just sorting out my books on my new bookshelf (I have about 500!) and I came across my harry potter books I have them all in hardback and paper back, I think they are brilliant! I have read them all about 5 times and when the last one was released at 12am I made my boyfriend go and queue for one lol he came back raging, loads of people had been there dressed up as wizards etc and he was mortified! I got my book, had to pay £18 tho! the new movie is out in nov, cant wait to see it though the films are nowhere near as good as the books! I also have the harry potter chess set (yeah Im sad)
Cara you made me laugh about your boyfriend queueing with people dressed as wizards!! I am sorry though, I have never read a Harry Potter nor seen a film, nor have the slightest desire to do so...so for once I am in harmony with magnius's opinion ( and we agree on no death penalty as well ) and i am in agreement with biffo too, I thought i was the only one, and i dont feel deprived! I dont think you are sad though, its good to have things you really enjoy.
Love the movies but haven't gotten into reading any of the books. Do keep putting on my to do list but the books are really expensive and you can't even buy second hand ones at a cheaper price to see if you are interested. Probably will wait for 5 years and then look at buying them once the hype has gone. Did really enjoy the movies though and felt like a kid all over again with the magic and spells and monsters. Think they are one of the better kids things out in the last couple of years. Anything that gets kids reading is a good thing
