Anime(Japanation) is traditionally hand drawn, but computer assisted techniques have become quite common in recent years. It is used in television series, films, video, video games, and internet-based releases, and represents all genres of fiction. There's many different animes and the only ones i've seen so ar is OHSHC, love hina and haruhi suzumiya(which are all very good and funny). I tried drawing anime(and sad to say i suck at it, but i'm getting better) and i'm getting anime movies. I want to see others opinions on anime and wheter they love it or hate it(GASP). Personally, i love it(YAY) it rocks my socks =]
My daughter reintroduced me to anime after a long break of not watching it, and now I don't know why I stopped. Being a bit of an oldie my favourites are still the classic Akira and Robotech. With the latter you have to be careful to get the actual Japanese version and not the Western one which was dumbed down for children. Anything by studio Ghibli is also worth a look, in particular Spirited Away. Others I've enjoyed are Gundam, Sky Blue and The Last Vampire. My daughter is very fond of Fruits Basket. Most of these I've just realised are also manga magazines. As for drawing it, like everything else it just takes a little practice, there are plenty of books available that teach you. Again my daughter tells me that the best ones are those that have been done by Japanese artists and not by Western ones.
Never got into it, had a Japanese penpal who loved it and sent me all sorts of comics and drawings she had - she was very talented but it just didn't interest me.
Love Anime :) Currently watching Trinity Blood, but in the past I have enjoyed Ghost In The Shell: SAC, Elfen Lied, Oh My Goddess and many many more..I try to watch all the ones on The Anime Network on Sky. If you like Anime I'd recommend you buy a magazine called "Neo" which is available in most WH Smiths: www.neomag.co.uk/
