How bad do you think the Postal Delivery from Royal Mail is nowadays? I think that the Service is getting a lot worse, yet more expensive. I used to get two deliveries a day, one before 0800, the other around midday - now I get one delivery a day, and I never know when! The latest I have receieved my Post is early evening (about 1830/6pm), other times at about 1100 to midday,
Yes, service is definitely worse but costs more than ever to send something now as instead of just taking into account the weight they've got this stupid size rule in place too. Our deliveries have been cut back from two a day to one - used to be one about 8 or 9am then another at around lunch time but now it's only once a day and could be any time. The recorded delivery service is annoying too - sometimes have to use it so pay more, then go online to track it and see if they've delivered it but noticed somewhere in the small print it says they can't guarantee delivery or a signature - so what are we paying extra for?
our postman is very quiet so i'm never quite sure if he comes in the morning or afternoon. my other half calls him the super silent ninga samurai postman, yes my other half is kooky.
The post,allway's at diffrent time's,privite mail with rip's in envelope's yes anything from the bank!! opened and resealed letter's,stolen voucher's.i am not happy with the thief's working at the mail room,comment not for genuine honest postie's.
We are very lucky to have a terrific group of posties (I rely on them for celebrity gossip and who has moved into the area!) and the staff from Parcel Force always leave packages behind flowerpots so that we dont have to schlepp up to the Sorting Office. Its not the minions who are at fault, its senior management and their stupid graduates who feel it necessary to change things to fulfil targets.
I used to be a Postman and left to enter my current career in 1981. We used to do 2 delieveries per day and then I used to deliver parcels in the afternoons. I really used to enjoy it. In those days we provided a good service and did so with a smile on our faces. These days nobody takes any pride in what they do. Post Office pay is not that bad but the postal employees are always complaining about poor pay and conditions. I think it's very sad that the post Office now has a lot of competition from courier firms and parcel delivery companies. Perhaps if they got on with it, provided the service that we pay for then maybe there would be no need for that competition.
