Does any one know of a good foundation?? I currently use maxfactor foundation and it is half moisturiser and half foundation. But I find this does not run smoothly on my skin. I’d say my skin type is combination and I do wear concealer underneath my foundation. I have been to markets and picked up various foundations but none of them I find give me a good enough coverage. I do not mind wearing powder on top of my foundation either as long as the foundation is not thick or heavy. I do like maxfactors make-up and cosmetics I just can’t find one to suit me . . can any one help?? I am willing to try a different brand but I definitely would like to find one that matches my natural skin tone well.
no 7 intelligent colour is the best foundation, it really works, it blends your skin out nicely and it looks amazing when you put it on.and the staff in boots will help you decide which make up you need.
I am forever trying to find an easier way to use foundation but I do love Olay's tinted moisterisers as they smell gorgeous, if you need a one minute wonder however the mineral powders do work well and cover as good as a foundation without so much fuss
Personally I use half foundation and half moisturiser, mix it together well and spread it on lightly like you would a normal moisturiser. It tends to come out more natural and lighter and you don't get the streaking the same. The other thing I have been using is a face moisturiser with tanner in it. Just the olay one is great. It doesn't streak, you only need a tiny bit and while it doesn't cover like foundation if you don't need the depth of product looks just as good and you can finish it with a powder if you want to apply blushers etc over top. When I started using olay with tanner I actually stopped using foundation altogether.
thanks natty for posting this topic, i have read dawns words very carefully and will follow her advice to the letter and i advise you to, as you will see, she is a make up artist so she should know. dawn can you post a topic with more hints for the older lady specially as it becomes more tricky to get yr make up to enhance you as you get older! wouldnt the brush be a bit harsh though to apply foundation? and if you use the sponge do you advise dampening it, as i find if i use a dampened sponge, mosst of the foundation stays on the sponge! Last question how best to apply concealer? very last question, has corry got a new make up artist as we thinthe cast's make up and hair styles are noticeably different lately? FINAL question, pls tell us the freeby website you use as we are on tenterhooks! X
Like dawn I was taught to use a flat brush to put my foundation on. It also allows you to put on a little extra where its needed and not so much in other places, which is quite important for me as my skin is quite patchy. At the moment I use a MAC solid stick foundation which is quite creamy, I have never had much luck with liquid foundation. I actually prefer a cream to powder compact type but have had alot of difficulty in finding one that matches my skin tone, it is unbelievably pale, hovering somewhere just above corpse white. I also use a small brush to stiple concealer on rather than use fingers or straight from the stick, then even it out with the corner of a sponge and finsih with a little powder. I'm not a professional though, perhaps someone knows a better way.
