I'm not the type of mum who would blindly push her kids out into the road. As I said he was speeding, he just came out of nowhere, the light was red, there were at least 4 cars stopped on the opposite side of the road and it is hard to miss someone pusing a pram across the road in broad daylight, even if I hadn't looked it certainly wouldn't have excused dangerous and irresponsible driving.
I think your comments showed that with you saying that you went on green, if the man is green you have right of way and the cars should have stopped before it got to that stage as the green man doesn't go till its been red for a few seconds
Ok, just wondering because I often see people just step out without checking and unfortunately some people in cars aren't paying that much attention so it's never safe to assume everyone has stopped.
I always pay attention to whatever is going on around me as i have alot of people pull out in front of me. You would think they would see a bright yellow car coming towards them.
Anyone who is a pedestrian in this day and age knows to cross very cautiously indeed, specially if you are pushing a pram ahead of you. This is because many motorists act as if pedestrians don't even exist half the time...they have trouble stopping when the lights change as they are going so fast...loads dont bother to indicate if there are no other cars around even though there may be walkers who need to know what he is doing next. It is terrible to think that even one never mind many drivers arent paying attention when they are supposedly 'in control' of a deadly weapon..the arrogance of them makes the mind boggle.
