What is a "make you cringe" accident you had? I slammed the car door on a finger and just about severed it. It was disgusting and I could see the bone. I also (some years ago) put a large gardening fork through my big toe. Dug it in to dig up the spuds and it went straight through my boot and out the otherside. When I went to the hospital they sprayed iodine literally through my toe as it went right through the hole. That was horrible and embarrassing but they said I was the second person that weekend who had been in with a similar injury.
i remember my mum telling me i was not allowed to go on my friends bike and of course i thought i knew better being a kid i went on it and fell off smacking my head on a curb and the peddal going through my leg ouch my mum came out with that famous saying I TOLD YOU SO
While coming back down Blencathra in the Lake District I slipped on the wet grass and as I did so put my hands out to brace myself. I fell with quite alot of force but was at first grateful that I hadn't appeared to have down anything serious like sprain an ankle. Then my friend noticed my left wrist. On the inside surface this huge bulge had developed, about the size of those old fashioned everlasting gobstoppers. It was sort of wobbly, and when he pressed it it would bulge out oddly in the other direction. It just looked weird, like it was an alien budding off. Apparently the muscle in the arm had split its sheath during the fall and a part of it was bulging out, the only way to solve it was to strap it up firmly. It still comes back if I stress that wrist.
I was about six years old and was knocked down by a car. It ran over my right ankle and you could see right through to the bone. All I can remember is that I was a champion Irish dancer and I wanted to get to my dancing class that evening.
